The Club created an entire village tableau. The name of the tableau was Rotary Baner Gram. This village was created by the club members with great dedication and art work. A fine representation of Indian culture and traditions, this was a very innovative piece of work. A Vasudev sung paeans to the lord and welcomed the DG. The occasion for this cultural show was the OCV. The path way to the village was adorned with rangolis and a beautiful Indian style decoration. A traditional welcome was accorded to the DG and other visitors. There was a street show in which an actor donned the role of a bangle vendor. There was a bioscope in which a moving film was shown to the DG. There was Maharashtrian food and a complete set of customs like oti bharane, in which the guest women are treated with oti, rukhwat jevan, in which there is a special menu and decoration. There was a traditional kitchen setup with mud pots and a grinding wheel. The actors in the tableau displayed authentic Maharashtrian culutre with phugdis, ukhanas and similar acts that brought alivea rural scenario.
